I hate fundraising!!! As a PK and Pastor's wife for over 30 years.... I always have. From going door to door selling pens for the building fund... to standing at Walmart, to car washes, yuck! Hated it! What about taking up those painful offerings every Sunday! What a drag! Honestly...even if you did all that with great results, well it would be worthwhile! But how much do pens bring in? Exactly! I was talking about this fact with my husband Pastor Warren Grantham and he is the one who started me thinking in a different way about funding ministry. Points Bank is based on Social Media Networking. Facebook is a good example. It grows because I tell a friend and they tell a friend and so on and so on!! Using social media sites such as Facebook, twitter, myspace is a fun and exciting way to see a new idea like Points Bank spread easily. Just tell a few friends. |

BRANDING What is a "bra nd"? A brand is intangible . It is the inherent promise that a company makes to the customer that reflects what the consumer can expect in terms of overall quality upon making a purchase. The brand is also tangible. It's the marketing word that is used to help companies create a logos, a catchy phrase, a persona. In the Christian world, "church branding" has become popular as America experiences an ever decreasing interest in church attendance causing ministries to ask why? I think that it is important to present your "product" well. Saving souls is the "business " or should be the "business" of the church. Personally, although I firmly believe in this basic idea, I just don't like the word "branding". It sounds painful, like using a branding iron on a cow. Ouch! |
